Whitening your teeth definitely has its place in the dental industry but it does not replace veneers, composite veneers or crowns. Teeth whitening can be done in conjunction with Monet Smile Veneers.

It is important, however, to understand that your bottom teeth will never be as white as the veneers on your top teeth. Can You Whiten Veneers?

We sometimes have clients asking us whether we can whiten veneers. The simple answer is you cannot whiten veneers, composite or crowns, they are porcelain and can’t be whitened.

If you are whitening your teeth, we always say, treat your teeth like you would a white tablecloth. Stay away from things that stain your teeth, like curry, smoking, red wine or coffee. The whitening of your teeth needs to be redone every 6 – 12 months.

Cost of Teeth Whitening

There are other options like in the chair Zoom whitening and even products that you can buy from the pharmacy.

At around $500 to $700 for an ‘in-chair whitening’ session and take-home kit, whitening can be more affordable than veneers and is a great option when you are wanting to improve your smile due to staining and discolouration. There are some dental practices that offer whitening as ‘a special.’ Whitening however will not fix many of the issues veneers are best known to address, such as chips, misalignment and gaps.

So, there are lots of different options available to you. We think that even if you do not have veneers, you should keep your teeth as clean and white as possible. Brush your teeth twice a day. See your hygienist and dentist every 6 months and enjoy a white fresh, healthy smile.
